The building work ADC Building Solutions completed was a two storey extension along the side and rear of our house. Downstairs this gave us an additional large open plan kitchen /living area, downstairs WC, cloakroom, utility room. Upstairs we added an additional large double bedroom and bathroom.
Andrew was able to give us a highly detailed quote that made sense and gave us confidence that all eventualities were covered. He met with us both to explain the quote in detail, how the work would be broken down, and what to expect on a week by week basis.
Approximately 4 weeks before the start of the build Andrew was able to give a detailed project plan outlining the dates for the full work schedule.
The work started on time and on day one it was reassuring to meet Dave and Joe. Dave with all his experience was able to put us at ease straight away. Throughout, Andrew’s team of builders were a pleasure to work with. All the team were friendly, cheerful, and really easy to get on with. We have been impressed with the quality of their work throughout.
At the mid-point of the build Andrew’s team installed a temporary kitchen in our living room. It was a tight squeeze but they managed to put in the sink, washing machine, and oven which meant that we could remain living through the build rather than moving out for 6 weeks. The team worked hard to minimise the level of disruption and respect our personal space. We really appreciated the kitchen installation being finished on time just before Christmas.
Andrew is incredibly well organised and his communication throughout has been excellent. Everyone we spoke to told us that there was no way the building work would run to time but Andrew’s project management skills meant that the build ran exactly to schedule. Andrew also has an eye for detail and can explain the technical parts of the build in lay person’s terms. He is really approachable and was available throughout the entire build.
So it is a big thank you to Andrew, and his team for all their hard work. A special mention to Dave and Joe for the superb brickwork, plus Richie and Steve for their carpentry skills and a great kitchen installation. You delivered the work on time, on budget, and most importantly we are absolutely delighted with our great new family home.

The scope of work was a significant extension and a renovation of our house, the work included some complex structural elements, replacement and upgrade of the complete heating system, replacement of all wiring, fitting out a kitchen, fitting out 5 bathrooms and all of the finishing works required to make the house fully habitable.
I was absent from the UK throughout the Project. Andrew Project Managed the entire process from the initial enquiry to final completion and coordinated the efforts of all trades and subcontractors associated with the Project. The level of service offered was first class, the work proceeded safely, the quality of the workmanship was excellent, and overall the Project was on schedule and was completed for the price that was agreed.
All problems were shared openly and solutions agreed quickly, in every case corrections were undertaken promptly without debate. Andrew himself is very knowledgeable of the technical aspects of the work across the full range of trades and was therefore able to propose improvements to the design and guide Client decisions.
The communication and control processes were clear and well suited to the work, with daily photographs (more than 1000 photos of entire Project) shared via the internet, regular reports, daily emails and phone calls, forward planning to avoid delays due to Client decisions, a well-managed change process and a clear snagging/completion methodology at the end of the Project.
The ADC team also managed the impact on the neighbourhood well, and all of my neighbours have commented on how well the team worked and conducted themselves, how they were informed of significant deliveries or works that may impact them and how in general the disruption was minimised and managed well.
We are thrilled with the outcome of the Project and the ADC team deserve full credit for what they have achieved and the way in which they achieved it. This success is due to Andrew, who genuinely wants to do the best job for the customer, and this ethos is apparent in the team that he leads and the subcontractors that he selects to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend ADC Building Solutions to anyone undertaking such work.

Andrew stood out from other builders we’d approached for quotes with his knowledge and attention to detail in planning and pricing our extension. We had a partnership from the beginning with Andrew, sharing build design ideas and options making the decision making process enjoyable throughout. His attention to detail continued right through the build to completion so when it came to the snagging phase, the snag list was practically non-existent and of little significance. We had several quotes for our planned project and that of ADC was very detailed but broken down on an excel spreadsheet with a day by day project plan, making it very understandable. This was the primary reason why we chose ADC to do the work. The payment schedule plan was also very clear so we knew where we were with our finances.

ADC Building Solutions were recommended to us by a family member who works in construction and is very familiar with Andrew’s work. Andrew immediately stood out as being the only builder to not only provide a detailed quote breakdown, but also follow up design and plan questions by actually talking with our architect. His communication has been faultless from the initial contact to the very end.
The schedule of work was very detailed and the quoted price included everything, so no hidden or uncertain charges. His quote may not have been the cheapest, but most importantly, Andrew came in on budget with the exception of one small drain problem which could not have been predicted.
Andrew and his team built us a temporary kitchen which enabled us to keep every appliance working except the hob while our kitchen was demolished and re-built. Having a working kitchen throughout was a massive bonus and no other builder would have provided this.
Andrew and his team worked within a Party Wall Award (our surveyor was also very impressed with Andrew’s knowledge and approach) and also met Thames Water’s requirements for a build-over agreement. In short, Andrew and his team were incredibly professional, friendly, knowledgeable, polite, trustworthy, tidy and easy to work with throughout.
Safety on site was a priority, plus, with three schools on our road, Andrew arranged all deliveries around school run times to minimise inconvenience to the whole community.
In short, we have already highly recommended Andrew and his team to friends, and would be very happy to use them again.

We were looking to have a single storey extension built on the back of our 1930’s home, we now have that and I can say that we can’t recommend Andrew and his team enough. From the outset of the first meeting right through to the end of the project they were professional and inspired confidence and understanding in what we wanted and delivering on that.
During the consultation and bidding phase they quoted on all items we had spec’d (it was a very detailed spec), came with actual quotes for their work and the other trades rather than ‘a rough estimate’. ADC also came with a time scale of the planned work so we had a very good idea of what was going to be done and charged by when.
When it came to the actual build the work went as planned and when it didn’t (weather) the effort was put in to catch up and get back on schedule. When problems occurred they brought solutions rather than complaints and the communication was first rate throughout.
I’d admit they are not the cheapest builder out there but they are worth every penny, not only are they including the stuff that the other builders are guessing at or have forgotten. Typically meaning you’ll pay for it when you least expect it, but the quality was excellent and they kept to the scope and budget, finishing in the week they said they would.
The project was almost stress free thanks to Andrew and his team; the guys know what they are doing and are ever so friendly to deal with. I work in the construction industry and wouldn’t go anywhere else if I was looking for future building work.

We engaged Andrew (ADC Building Solutions) to build our first floor extension over our kitchen and garage. We had searched through the internet to find good quality builders in our area to undertake the works as we were concerned about the build and the effect on our daily life during the build.
After meeting several builders all with good recommendations and different costs we felt, although, Andrew was slightly higher in price that he would be an excellent choice as he offered greater clarity in the quote and project management from the start.
The package that came included a detailed quote, examples of his work, a contract and clear schedule covering invoicing and budget documentation. He made good suggestions on how to maintain the use of the main part of our kitchen and also to keep the weather out whilst the construction was undertaken.
Andrew programmed the works giving us a start and finish time, which was a couple of weeks before Christmas so we were a bit apprehensive about the project completing on time. Having a good project manager and a really friendly and helpful reliable team behind him hugely reduced the amount of stress of undertaking building works from day one of the works. They just turned up got set up and started work with the build undertaken with as little inconvenience to us as possible, even a temporary roof covering kept watertight through some wet days. There was adequate protection put in place to protect the garden also during the build as we were concerned about damage to a recently paved rear garden.
We can truly recommend Andrew and his team not only for the quality of the build but also keeping the project on budget and programme, we always knew when payments were due, the team were reliable, friendly, hardworking, polite, tidy and helpful. Andrew was also very obliging in helping us get new door handles for our existing doors to match the ones supplied in the extension from his supplier. There are not many that are so helpful.

We engaged Andrew (ADC Building Solutions) to build our ground floor extension comprising: kitchen, shower room, utility room and conservatory. Andrew had been recommended by neighbours who had undertaken a similar extension.
Andrew was an excellent project manager from the start, providing us with a detailed quote, samples, a contract and clear schedule, invoicing and budget documentation. He made good suggestions to improve upon our architect’s plans, provided the quote promptly and took the time to come out to go through the quote in detail with us. If we had any changes or extras to deal with, or if any issues arose (which are to be expected with a project of this size), Andrew facilitated and accommodated those changes and discussed and resolved any issues quickly, pragmatically and professionally.
Andrew always responded promptly to any emails and calls and provided useful advice from his considerable experience. Andrew liaised with Building Control and coordinated the other tradesmen, so this took that element of project management away from us. Having a good project manager and a reliable team behind him hugely reduced the amount of stress of undertaking building works, as we knew we could trust them to take ownership of the project and work alongside us in decision making.
The build was undertaken with as little inconvenience to us as possible, with a temporary fully plumbed kitchen neatly set up in an existing part of the house for the duration of the project, the build kept watertight through exceptionally wet winter months, and adequate protection put in place to protect the house and garden during the build.
In addition, the project kept to budget and schedule, which was important to us as we were expecting a baby immediately after the end of the schedule.
Andrew’s team were reliable, hardworking, polite, tidy, helpful and professional and carried out our build to an excellent standard. They were unruffled by tricky neighbours and any detailed instructions we gave and provided good advice.

ADC provided the most detailed estimation and schedule of all the builders we interviewed, which makes you feel better when planning an extension that changes almost every room in your house, including the roof.
As with any project of this scale there were a few issues along the way as you would expect, but the reason for mentioning this, was to say that you could guarantee Andy was always available on the end of the phone and always resolved them quickly. Even after they’d completed the project and had their final payment. I’m sure that’s not always the case with other builders.

After moving to a new area & buying a house which needed refurbishing & extending, we needed to find a trustworthy builder, always rather daunting. Andy prepared a very comprehensive pricing schedule, which clearly showed everything included. He brought samples round of the materials he proposed, which all made for a very professional approach. We had met some of his tradesman during the pricing stage, which helped to give us confidence and comfort, for them working in our house. The works were extremely well planned; in particular the construction of a temporary screen to keep our kitchen operating, whilst noisy dusty work continued on the other side. Keeping the building water tight is obviously important and Andy turned out on a Sunday morning with his family to adjust some sheeting after a particularly windy night.
Again after the shell was complete, he moved our kitchen components across on temporary connections, so that we still had an operable kitchen until it was stripped for a new fit out. There were tradesman working in our house every day; they were always friendly and consulted us on how we wanted items finally positioned and finished. At the end of every working day they vacuumed the workplace to leave everything as tidy as possible. We have no hesitation in recommending ADC Building Solutions.

From the moment we encountered ADC they were very professional and efficient. The quote we received was prompt and provided a very detailed breakdown of the costs and schedule for the project. When we decided to proceed with our build, it made sense to contact more than one builder for a quote. What a revelation. Though we had sourced our builders’ contact details from an online directory which we had previously used, the quality and credibility of the quotations could not have varied more. It was obvious with Andrew’s professionalism, attention to detail and “project” approach that all details were included in the quotation with no risk of a large “extras” bill.
The building works progressed smoothly, as planned. For someone who had not experienced living with such a build before, it was surprisingly easy. Looking back on the photographs and videos I do wonder how we did it, but day by day, it was no problem. The tightest time was when we we confined to living, cooking and washing up in one room but we emerged even from that unscathed.
The people arriving on site day by day were professionals who executed their tasks effectively. For those of you who are concerned by these things, they always tidied up after themselves every day.
Andrew co-ordinated the project management and ensured that materials and tradespeople arrived on site in a phased and timely manner. When we added extra requirements, he was flexible in implementing them, for example we wanted an extra wall removed which Andrew slotted in to the overall programme without serious impact on the timescales. If you need to access a particular trade that you have chosen not to include in the original quote, Andrew has several experienced contacts upon whom he can call for you.
The invoicing phasing is sensibly shown in the contract and rather than having three or four large payments during the build, the payment milestones are sensibly allocated to discrete project milestones, so it becomes routine to pay the supplied invoice on virtually a weekly basis.
No project runs 100% smoothly but whenever I identified something which needed resolution, Andrew did not hold back in giving his full commitment and attention until the issue was resolved. Andrew is very good at being “available” on the phone to discuss these matters.
By removing one internal and one external wall of the original building we are now the happy owners of a professionally built, single storey extension made into a large space with an area of about 40 sq. m. The highlight (no pun intended) of the extension is a flat rooflight, designed by our Architect (in conjunction with my wife of course) and though it weighs 200kg Andrew’s team (and a hired winch) managed to haul it into place and place it accurately.
